Dear Wikia readers, contributors and other community members...
The Wikia is a project that I've taken great pride in working on over the course of the last 6 months. During that time period, I've witnessed the rise and fall of guilds and military figures alike. As we speak, the Wikia is facing problems it's never faced before. Vandalism is at an all time high, conflict has plagued comment threads and people have grown, in lack of better phrasing, disinterested in the project. In an effort to restore the image and interest of our communities best hope of recording and storing our expansive history, I'm planning on implementing systems both old and new to bring us back to glory.
Cleaning up the Wikia - Over the last month or so, the Wikia has become a place for personal beef and arguments between guilds. The Wikia was and always will be a place for unbiased, pure history. In an effort to restore that promise, my previous announcement (which can be seen in the home page) will continue to be enforced. Furthermore, any opinionated pieces that are meant to harm or damage the image of another guild or community member is prohibited.
Implementing programs - Recently, the Wikia has been without a viable project meant to promote innovation and creativity. Years ago, Overseer Roanoke Han implemented the GHS, or the Graal Historical Society. The GHS was an effort to encourage community members to store history and write pieces of literature. It is my hope to bring back the GHS during my time as Overseer. Furthermore, I'd like to bring back the newsletter. The newsletter can serve as a way to bring opinionated pieces from trusted authors to a central location, rather than such articles being spread throughout various blogs.
Promoting bipartisanism - The community is very noticeably split up into multiple groups. Recently, the wikia has been accused of being biased. By cleaning up the wikia (as explained earlier), it is my hope for the Wikia to return to a state where everyone, regardless of your guild, can contribute to without a fear of vandalism or conflict.
The current staff will for the most part stay the same. I'll be posting updates periodically on our progress to achieve these goals. And with your help, let's make the Wikia great again.
